Akin Omisanmi was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and raised in Prince George’s County. He came to faith shortly after high school through the faithful witness of his wife, Kellee. In the summer of 2010, through God’s great love and mercy, Akin came to recognize his sin and placed his faith in Jesus Christ. He was baptized and discipled at Grace Baptist Church in Bowie, MD, where God also began stirring in him a desire to shepherd others. In 2011, Akin sensed a clear calling to pastoral ministry.
He holds a Bachelor of Biblical Studies with a minor in Pastoral Ministry from Lancaster Bible College.
Akin has served in various pastoral roles, including as a Pastor in Residence at The Garden Church in 2024 and at Grace Baptist Church, Bowie, in 2022. From 2014 to 2022, he served as a pastoral intern, and in the fall of 2021, he completed the pastoral internship at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C.
Akin is deeply passionate about Jesus and the gospel, expositional preaching, healthy churches, discipleship, and equipping the next generation of leaders. He also loves spending time with his family, enjoying good coffee, and reading great books. His favorite cuisines are Nigerian and Mexican. He lives in Southwest Baltimore with his wife, Kellee, and their four children: AJ, Colton, Beckett, and Everlee.
